The weather station includes a number of sensors that measure barometric pressure, temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed and direction, UV radiation and solar energy. Data from the weather station is downloaded to our central server every hour, and gives 15 minute accurate readings of a number of meteorological components.
Although wet season has officially finished in Cambodia, storms do still occasionally occur. The hyetograph shows a short rainstorm that occurred on the night of the 26th November, where a total of 44mm of rain fell in 1h45. Temperature and pressure around that time period can also be seen.
With the weather station we will create a historical database of accurate weather readings in Phnom Penh, have the ability to create 3 day forecasts, and also be able to calibrate our forecast models with the measurements we obtain.
